My father passed away  February 1964, Mom passed away May 2006, and my brother passed away November 2009 at age 59. I am really looking forward to seeing everyone at the Reunion. I was looking at the yearbook last night, it really brought back a lot of memories that I will never forget. Thank God for this time we will have together again, But most of all thank our classmates that gave their all for this wonderful nation we call America!!! When I see that RED, WHITE, and BLUE flag, I am proud to be an American, 36 years of serving this beautiful country, and never a regret for doing it!!! Send Charles a MessageSend Charles a Message

December 20, 1948 joannefayard@aol.com retired REALTOR
Can't get a good southern girl out of Bossier for long!  Studied at NSU, Harding & LSUS but finally gave up college for a real estate career! I have always loved to travel and was blessed to spend the summer of '72 in Europe doing "the Grand Tour" with my college roommate.   Married Ron Fayard (BHS '64).Together we enjoyed a 30 year career in real estate sales and management. Ron passed away in 2011 after some tough health battles.  I still have my real estate license just to keep abreast of the market trends but I no longer do sales.  I stay busy managing my own rental houses and keeping up local relationships with friends and family  Our daughter, Amanda, is married to a Coastguardsman and they currently live in VA with my three precious grandchildren. I travel to see them 3-4 times a year and fit in other travels to the beach, the mountains, big cities or cruises in between. In fact, it is a long awaited New England cruise for the changing of the leaves this fall that is keeping me from being at our 50th reunion.   I hate to miss this momentous occasion but I know those of you who are attending will have a wonderful time!  The committee has done a lot of  work and put in a lot of time and effort in the coordination of events, etc.   Send Joanne a MessageSend Joanne a Message

I am still loving teaching, even after 41 years! My favorite role in being Nana to three beautiful granddaughters: Hannah (11), Samantha (3) and my namesake Olivia Kathryn (17 months). I am so disappointed that I won't be able to see everyone at the reunion, but I just can't leave my babies while they are undergoing radiation treatments. I know y'all will have a wonderful time getting reacquainted after 45 years, so many fond memories. Carol told me there were already thinking about a 50th reunion, hope to see y'all then. February 04, 1948 racefanatx2@yahoo.com Retired Deputy Sheriff

What have I been doing for the last 45 years since graduation?  Wow!  We left Bossier City the day after graduation and headed for California.  My dad was serving in Viet Nam and Mother wanted to be closer to him and I had a sister in So. Cal so off we went.  I got my old job back at the Charter House as assistant night auditor and was to enroll at Cal State Fullerton.  didn't because I was burnt out on school...you may or may not remember that!!

Instead, I went to the local recruiter and talked to hem about joining the Navy.  They sent me back to Bossier City becasue I could get in sooner.  I joined in Sept of 1966 was sent back to So. Cal to boot camp in San Diego which I completed and what assigned there. Some 4 mnths later, I was a Hospital Corpsmen and assigned to...you guessed it...Balboa Naval Hospital.  Finally, I was transferred to Oakland, Ca to attend Neuropyschiatric Technician's school.  Whle assigned there, I got married to my first wife who was from Riverside, Ca.  My son, Patrick, was born at Oakland Navla HOpsitla May 19, 1969 shortly beofre I got transferred to a guided missile destroyer out of Long Beach, Ca the USS John Paul Jones DDG-32.  And we were off to Viet Man but at least I was on a ship and not on the ground.

I did get to see alot of the world, Australia, New Zealand, Hong, Singapore, and several other places.  I was honorably discharged in Nov 1970 as an E-5 or HM-2.
Back to So. Cal to Riverside to be with my family.  Made application to the Riverside County Sheriff's dept and was hired as a deputy Sheriff in Sept of 1971.  That pretty much took care of the next 34 years of my working life.  I worked patrol, auto theft, investigations, partrol supervision as a Sergeant, the jail and training division.  In my 6thyear, I started teaching in the police academy and for Riverside Community College.  My teaching career lasted up to my retirement.
In Dec 72, my daughter Deona was born.  I thought I had it made.  I was married, had a son and daughter and the best job I could ever ask for.  Then, the Divorce Fairy paid me a visit and I remained single for the next 5  years.  Then I met Sandee, my last wife, We are coming up on 30 years this coming May.  Between us we have 5 children and 12 grandchildren.  Theoldest is just starting college and the youngest kindergarten.
I retired in 2005 but remained on Reserve and kept teaching.  Sandee and I had built our dream house in Apple Valley Cal and she finally asked me one day if I was every going to stop teaching...I replied No. and the the next thing I knew we were moving to Granbury, Texas where we have been for 7 years and have absolutely loved it.  We are in the process of moving to Las Vegas to care for my mother in law.    I am really looking forward to seeing you all.  I did find my yearbook and will definitely bring it along!!

After graduation I worked for Bossier Bank & Trust.  Met my husband (Bill Gwin) when he had a blind date with my roommate.  He was stationed at Barksdale.  Luckily, for me, they did not hit it off.  He asked me out later and we've been together ever since.  That was in May 1967.  We were married in March 1968.  After he left the air force, we came to Lafayette, IN - his hometown.  We have 2 chldren:  daughter, Stacey (39); son, Travis (36.)  Stacey & husband, Mike, have 3 boys - Drew, 11 yrs.; Kyle, 9 yrs.; Ryan, 6 yrs.  Travis has finally decided to settle down and in Jan. 2012 will marry a very nice young lady, Michele.  She has 2 daughters:  Makenna, 8 yrs. & Olivia, 5 yrs.  We are very happy because then we will have granddaughters too!  They all live in the Denver, CO area.  Stacey, & family, lives in Broomfield, CO and Travis, & soon to be family, lives in Aurora, CO.  About 45 min. apart.  What fun vacations we have!  As for my education, I was a very late bloomer.  I completed my BS from Purdue University in Dec. 2001.  Bill & I retired in 2010 and are loving every minute of it!  I look forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.  As someone else commented, name tags will be a must!  May I add, in LARGE print please!  Ha! Ha!
