jenkinsjane@comcast.net retired educator
After graduation,  I attended La. Tech and majored in Elementary Education (B.A. in 1969 and M.A. in 1970). I taught in Baton Rouge for two years, Bossier Parish for 12 years and then joined the staff of the 4th Congressional District Professional Development Center working in eight parishes in NW Louisiana. When Legislative changes were made in our Center four years later,  I moved to the Staff Development Center in Caddo Parish working year-round with teachers and administrators for the following twelve years. Upon retirement at 30 years service I “re-upped” for three years of DROP. I wanted to leave the profession as I’d gone in…..working at a school site with children. I lucked up on a new position of “art teacher” in near-by elementary school.   I was able to spend the next three years developing a program and worked with every student in the school. It was lots of work and lots of fun but I retired for good in 2003.   I was married in 1970 to  Bossierite, Buzz Wojecki , and we had one son who is now 40 years old. Andrew attended college in Arizona and then spent nine years in Australia. While there he received his PHD. He married Agustina from Argentina five years ago.  (Our family joke is that we are focused on the A’s!!!)  They were both working for Exxon-Mobile  when they met– she was in Houston on a seven month assignment.  She is a wonderful and talented young lady. My brother lives in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. We just lost our Dad lin 2010 but Mother at 100 continues to thrive. She lives in Shreveport and still drives and plays bridge 3-5 times a week!! She’s a jewel.   I remarried in 2006 to a wonderful man that had been college friends with my brother in the early 70’s. He lived in The Woodlands and whisked me away to Texas. Gary has one daughter, Wendy, age 31. We are enjoying our retirement together. We stay so busy I have trouble fitting my hobbies in. I love to bike, garden, read, stitch and play cards with the gals. Gary and I love to travel and love having time to spend with family and friends.  We bought an RV  years ago and plan to wear the thing out! We have a nine year old rescue dog named Henley (after Don) that has a special place in our hearts. It’s so exciting to think we are gathering together after all these years!!! Can't wait to see you all at the reunion!

Robin and I have been married for 41 years and enjoy our children, golf and traveling.  I recently made my 2nd hole-in-one!  My two daughters live in Baton Rouge which is only a short drive.  Kim and her husband, Kevin have two amazing sons.  I am joined at the hip with Jack (5) and Max (2 1/2) and adore them!  We are also big LSU fans ... GO TIGERS!!!  My youngest daughter, Kara,  and her fiancee, Jared, also live in Baton Rouge.  As you can expect, we spend a lot of time hanging out with them.  We also enjoy spending time with my step-daughter, Nina!  She and her childred, Amy, Ginny and Craig are Georgia bred and "Bulldog" fans!!!

My other two passions are running and hiking.  Jane Isler Jenkings is one of a very close group of my friends.  We have backpacked together in Colorado and continue to get together to hike and mountain bike at Texas state parks.  We enjoyed traveling together on an Alaskan cruise and share a love for traveling.

I attended Louisiana Tech, LSUS and Centenary College and took business management and accounting.  Professionally, I was business manager for Analytical Logging, controller for Buckelews and business manager of Live Oak Retirement Center.  Robin and I support many community organizations but our heart belongs to The Arc Foundation.  This is an organization that we have been actively supporting for over 30+ years.  My mother, Bettie Luckette, still lives in Bossier City and leads a very active life.  We get together often for lunch and to spend quality time together.  My sister, Gail and her husband Johnny live in Benton.  I am blessed and very fortunate to have a close group of family and friends and look forward to reconnecting with my AHS buddies.
