December 28, 1948 txpattie@gmail.com Advisor, College of Professional Studies
After high school, I attended Louisiana College, graduating in 1970 and getting married the very next day.  For the next 39 years I worked along side my husband in various areas of ministry with Southern Baptists:  youth ministry, curriculum writer, conference leader, conference coordinator, women's retreat speaker and writer, free-lance writer, VBS curriculum writer.  Most of that time was spent at Lifeway Christian Resources in Nashville, TN.  In 1999 we moved to Ft. Worth, TX to work at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where I was a Conference Coordinator in the Leadership Development Center.  In 2009 I had the great opportunity to start life all over again as a single, and began working at Dallas Baptist University as Director of Christian School Relations, moving later into an Advisor position in the College of Professional Studies.  I plan on working there until they won't let me work anymore because I love my job!  I have two daughters and nine grandchildren.  Being "Grannylou" is the absolute joy of my life!  I am so excited to be able to attend this 50th reunion!  If you are in the DFW area, give me a shout! After a semester & 1/2 at LATech, I joined my family in Japan & transferred to the SF Art Institute in Jan of 68. Loved living in San Francisco~& yes, I found myself there & turned in a hippie (& still am that person today!) 4 years in the Bay area, 3 years in Hawaii, & 4 in Guam. My Mom died in the late fall of 76 so I went on a trip to Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, Afganistan & Hong Kong) & met my daughter's father in Thailand. After our trip was over, he went back to Australia & I moved to a small town in the Redwoods 75 mi North of SF to raise my fabulous daughter. She lives near Portland, OR with her amazing husband & my 2 incredible Grandchildren~Skylar 5 1/2 & Brayden almost 9 years. I visit as often as I can via Amtrak. My last job was as the Art Director of a gift & souvenir co with National & State Parks & Fisherman's Wharf amongst my clients. Unfortunately, I was striken with terrible Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2001 & had to take early retirement. After years of horrible pain, I'm doing better now with new knees & a monthly infusion that has taken over 90% of my pain away. Next joint to become bionic will be a new left elbow. I retired from dating by the time I hit my late 30s. And after 30 years of being single, I met an incredible man in Jan (on the Dating for Hippies site no less) & am in the best relationship I've ever had with a brilliant, funny, gorgeous, long haired & bearded man who has studied Metaphysics for over 40 years. Since I also follow that particular Spiritual path, he has been wonderful resource & teacher. He lives in Oakland & we try to see each other for a few days every week. Long story, but I lost the house I'd lived in 1/2 my life in May after my Dad who owned it died. I've been looking for housing in a tight, expensive market & went to live with my friend in Lower Lake in the meantime (1 county up.) On Aug 13th we were evacuated due to the Clayton Creek Fire & she lost her home & everything not packed into 2 cars. So I'm couch surfing again! Otherwise, life is GOOD & I can paint once again! Sorry to miss the reunion & send love to everyone! And I'm way thinner than this photo~yay! Send Susan a MessageSend Susan a Message

"I won’t make it this time.  I am retiring from the courts next month, selling the house and moving back to Reno, where I used to live and I can be closer to 2 of my sisters. There’s so much to do….not enough hours in the day!"
I've been on the West Coast since the '70s.  I've been able to snow ski in the mountains, sailboat racing on Lake Tahoe, Boating in San Francisco Bay, Hunting and Camping in the Nevada Mountains, Scuba Diving off the Mendacino Coast, and even learned how to fly a small plane. Slowed down long enough to have a son who is 23 years old, so  no grandkids yet.  I work for the Superior Courts in California  as a courtroom clerk.  Love my judge and my job and don't have plans to retire anytime soon!  I'm the shop steward and labor contract negotiator for our union and there's so much to do.
