Class Gift

Eleven days ag, we were enjoying our class reunion.  So fun!  And so great to see so many of you! As you may recall, Principal Jason Rowland, spoke to us that night about the renovations at AHS and some of the school’s needs.  He specifically mentioned the curbside appeal noting that 15,000 people drive by AHS every day!  What you might not know is that our class has not ever left a class gift.  So, albeit a bit after graduation, we are going to see what we might do to help leave our mark at AHS.  Jack Skaggs met with Principal Rowland this past Thursday and he has suggested that our class help to fund the new gates at the front of the school.  Pictures of the proposed gates will be posted on Facebook and  elsewehere on our website.  The gates would have a placard using the route 66 chevron with the Class of 1966 inscribed inside.   The total cost would be around $16,000.   We hope that this will be an achievable goal for our successful class.   Jack is going to take the lead is collecting and delivering the checks which need to be made out to Airline High School.  The memo should read “Pillars of Pride” Fund Class of 1966. The accounting office at AHS will  send the appropriate tax letter to all contributors.  Please address the envelope to Jack Skaggs   Attention:  AHS Class of 1966 5527 Hickory Ridge Dr. Bossier City, La 71111. Jack asks that you make sure to show a solid return address on the envelope.   If you need to speak to him, he can be reached via 318 230 5074 and he asks that you speak clearly and repeat your return phone number in the voicemail message if he misses you. Please join Jack, Carol and others in building the gates for future AHS students.
